This was a simple still life I chose to do when my hydrangeas were blooming.
I was a bit short on blooms so used my artistic license to add a few to the vase

 

This painting was later donated to a charity as a fundraiser

Pink Magnolias

Magnolias are a beautiful flower and can be be an artists dream or nightmare, they sometimes work and other times cause a lot of misery! Not having a suitable background, I decided to go with blended colour this time.

Lemons are simple and fun to paint, just on a cloth background which you learn has many colours other than grey!  One of my favourite artists Cezanne (below), liked painting cloth, it can be very satisfying and therapeutic as well.
